“I need something to place in front of my client to help them understand where their money is going.” That was the entire project brief for a corporate illustration for a financial service provider. He spends his time telling clients how to place their money, and he found out that sometimes finances can be complex. So he needed a diagram to describe where the money goes and the trail that it leaves. Since the route wasnt really a straight line it had to graphically represented.
The client sketched out how the concept worked and I kept the artwork horizontal in case he wanted to use it in an email newsletter. I used big bold graphics and kept down the amount of design elements. The client now used that illustration in seminars as well as speaking to clients one on one. My client says the best part of the having the illustration was hearing the client go “Ahhhh, now I understand”
